In his message for the 6th World Day of Poor, Pope Francis invited Christians all around the world to upload the values of sharing, solidarity, responsibility, freedom and fraternity.  He also emphasized on making charity, faith and hope the base and life of our actions.

The Pope reflected on the message of St. Paul to the Corinthians to show solidarity to fellow brothers and sisters in need.  He also recalled the events in Ukraine and the pandemic that has affected the world, especially the poor.  He also added that, “sharing the little we have with those who have nothing, so that no one will go without is solidarity.”  In his concluding remarks, the Pope gave the example of St. Charles de Foucauld, a man, born rich, who gave up everything to follow Jesus.

The World Day of the Poor is commemorated on the 33rd Sunday of Ordinary Time, which falls on 13 November this year.  The theme for this day will be ‘For your sakes Christ became poor.’
